What Colours Are on Your Plate?

Complete eye candy here!
This is the work of Art Director/Photographer
Alison Anselot, in Belgium.
Her Pantone food series is brilliant,
don't you agree?

I for one will be eyeing what's on my plate
with Pantone colour codes from now on!

Wishing you a colorful and creative week...
How is it that March snuck up on us
so quickly?

Will You Be Watching?

And the big day is here!
I honestly cannot believe that it was 19 years ago
that Wolfgang Puck started doing
the Governor's Ball...
I was called in to manage the floor in a Bob Mackie loaner...
it was the year that Forest Gump won, and I oversaw
the Forest Gump tables.
I will never forget the moment when the doors
opened, and everyone started pouring
into the room in their stunning gowns.
Talk about a starstruck experience!

19 years later, and Wolfgang and
his stellar crew are still going strong ~

Today they are cooking for 1,600 people.

Read about the menu HERE.

Enjoy!

May Your Weekend Be BRIGHT!

What a wonderful ambience to take off on a trip...you couldn't possibly feel down or worried walking through Christopher Janney's rainbow pathway in Miami's International Airport.

I may not be going anywhere this weekend, but looking at this picture is like taking a peek into a virtual land of wonder.

Have you been to Miami, and walked this path? I need to go very soon, my newest dear little niece is approaching 6 months and I need to go and get some baby girl love!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Chinese New Year in Las Vegas

We celebrated the Year of the Snake in Chinatown on Sunday ~ I have always loved Chinese New Year since going to Chinatown in San Francisco as a child, and then it is a big event at Chinois, Wolfgang Puck's Asian fusian restaurant in Santa Monica, where I was maitre'd for many years. The dragon dancers are just so amazing. I loved seeing the little kids with their dragon masks, adorable! The noodle magician was truly amazing, he can turn a lump of dough into thin noodles in minutes.

Wishing you a magical week,

Snoopy

I just came across these pictures of Snoopy (who I adore) over at Another, from 1990. Designers around the world came up with new outfits to celebrate Peanuts 40th Anniversary. I love the backdrops and the captions!

One more day to the biggest HEART day ever...
Do you have any romantic plans?

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

"
2013 is the year of the black Snake begins on February 10th shortly after the New moon in Aquarius, the humanitarian of the zodiac. This 2013 year of Snake is meant for steady progress and attention to detail. Focus and discipline will be necessary for you to achieve what you set out to create. The Snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs. It is the enigmatic, intuitive, introspective, refined and collected of the Animals Signs. Ancient Chinese wisdom says a Snake in the house is a good omen because it means that your family will not starve."

With 2 Snakes in the house ( myself and my eldest), I am looking forward to a powerful year! We are going to the big Chinatown celebration this Sunday, so will have some fun pictures to share  next week~

Have a great week!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

For those of you that are snowed in, I wish you a warm weekend by the fire, with dreams of Spring around the corner...

I have been a busy bee trying to do my own website over at Indiemade ( Thanks to Jane at Jacaranda Designs for the tip!)...Boy I thought figuring out blogspot was hard in the beginning....
Non- techie person that I am I have had quite a few headaches this past week, although it really is quite simplistic, and their Customer Support is quick and on the ball.So far I am thrilled with what they are offering there, and highly recommend it to anyone wanting their own site. Hopefully the unveiling will be next week!

Portraiture on The Plains

I imagine artist Ed Fairburn looks at a map like Michelangelo looked at a stone...the face was there amidst the topography, just waiting to be set free? I have a thing for maps, and am loving all of the creative artists that are using them in so many unique ways.

I wonder what the future holds for maps? Will they become obsolete, sold in stacks at garage sales and vintage stores? Part of a road trip was always pulling over to the side of the road, and folding the map down to a reasonable size to read, and find out where we were. You'd have to take several minutes of rustling and oops it's upside down...but it was romantic. No annoying GPS girl bleeping into your conversation " turn right point three miles"...

How do you feel about maps versus GPS?

To see more of Ed Fairburn's amazing art, visit his site HERE.

Today is the last day to enter the $50 Giveaway to Dolce Dreams being hosted at A Lovely Lark ~

Have a fabulous week,

Go Niners!

I am not too much of a sports enthusiast...however, I am way outnumbered in my house! Sunday is the big day, and as I grew up in San Francisco, will be cheering along with my boys. I think it is pretty cool that the coaches from both teams are brothers. It makes me think about the future, if my boys ended up on different teams against each other ~ How hard would that be for a parent!? Who would you cheer for? Where would you sit? What would you wear? Those whoopie pies in the top right are by "Oh Sugar Events"...what a perfect addition to the Game Day menu they would be!

May the best team win!

Will you be watching the game on Sunday?
