Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a sparkly New Year!

I must say that with a boot on my broken foot for the last few months of 2013, and a household with the flu over Christmas, I am REALLY looking forward to 2014, with a clean slate of health!

All the Best to you all!

Inspirational Women

When I have an agenda so full that I feel overwhelmed, I just call my dear friend Susan Goecke up, to feel that my tasks are possible.. With four sons ages 10 to 18 (all in different sports), a family business that she works for, her own gemstone jewelry business, the Kundalini yoga classes that she teaches, she now adds "Published Author" to her job titles.

Last night I attended a book signing for "The Three Choices," the book that she whipped out during the year that she was busy helping her son out with college applications.

I am so proud of all of her many accomplishments!
She is truly an inspiring woman to be around, and I am proud to call her my friend!

"There is one guarantee in everyone’s life, and that is certain death.
But have you ever stopped to think what actually happens at that exact moment after you die?
This is the great unknown that everyone has to face at some point.
In the new and exciting book "The Three Choices" by Susan Goecke, you will be able to explore the afterlife through the profound experiences of a mother who suddenly finds herself on a journey like no other. Her day started like just like any other typical day, but turned out to be something completely different. A magical car ride turned into a living nightmare, forcing her to make the most difficult choice of her life.
That single choice altered her soul forever…
Unsure of what steps to take next, she bravely entered into the twisted spider web of her mind and became deeply transported into the multiple layers of her own subconscious mind and past memories.
At that point in the journey, she had to make one more critical step…"

You can buy the book at Amazon

Kundalini yoga's focus is on self-awareness and delivering an experience of your highest consciousness.

See more of Susan's jewelry on her website, "Angelically Guided".

I was introduced to doTerra essential oils by Susan, and have become addicted. Since using them, I have not purchased any medications from the pharmacy. Even my boys will ask for "some oils please Mom" when they are not feeling well.
I LOVE them all!

She is one of my small group of Mothers that I look up to and admire, that I call with any questions on how and why and what to do...

Thanks Susan for the continual inspiration and light that you bring to the world!

It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas...!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with Love, family, friends and great food! I sure enjoyed mine, even though we had a much smaller group than years past. December is crazy for me, filled with Christmas orders to fill, and events at my sons' schools, so after eating too much turkey I quickly switched gears and starting packing Thanksgiving decor away...and got into full Christmas mode yesterday. My sons are older now and so helpful, I was thinking of when they were little and how much I used to do all by myself (my husband has his hands full with the outside light extravaganza!), and I am grateful.

Here are some of my favorite Christmas finds that I have been pinning in anticipation! All photos are via my Holiday Pinterest Boards, you can get the links to them HERE.

And here is a photo of the place settings at my Thanksgiving table, that I had mentioned I would be doing, inspired by a Pinterest photo. I think it turned out so pretty with my grandmother's china and our wedding silver and crystal.

Are you in the holiday spirit yet, with your tree up, or do you wait a bit?

Have a wonderful week!

November in a Nutshell

It's hard to believe that we are in the latter part of November, with Thanksgiving days away and Christmas chomping at the bit! I came across the place setting above on Pinterest, and plan on dressing my table the same. My grandmother's china and silver will look great with the simplicity of this, and I love to keep the place settings I make each year....these will be good to add to my memory lane.

This lovely bugger has been a part of my life for almost six weeks, and has messed with my daily rituals. I am in s-l-o-w motion, something I am not accustomed to. Sure hoping that the Doctor will tell me at my appointment this Monday that the stress fracture I had is healed...
In the beginning I thought a little bling can perk anything up ~ but it was very short-lived!

My little baby turned double digits!
And it makes this mamma sad, it all goes too fast...
Do you agree?

I had a little photo shoot of my work space, and the two quilts for my sons that gave birth to Dolce Dreams....however my eldest was not too good at focusing! A re-shoot is in order...

Winter has finally arrived here in Las Vegas, the Sheep Mountains that we see from our home are covered in snow and the temperatures have dropped...

Which means that lovely pots of soup are on the stovetop...

And the fireplace is going strong...
Guess who is parked in front of it in heavenly bliss?

How is your November coming along? Are you all ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, or are you going slow like me?

Somehow it always pulls together!

Wonderful Gifting Ideas

Visit Paper and Present from Colorado for fabulous gift wrap!

Thanksgiving is around the corner ( I can smell that turkey roasting), and the holiday shopping is in full swing! My fabulous friend Stephanie just sent me this in my inbox, and I had to share it...
The only way to go, right? Let's support ourselves and our neighbors this holiday season!

Have a wonderful week,

Birth of a New Tradition

As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor.

year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Oh.... Yes there is! It is time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?

-- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates from your local American hair salon or barber?

membership? It's appropriate for
all ages who are thinking about some health improvement.

wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a book of gift certificates.

you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plunking down the Benjamins on a Chinese-made flat-screen TV? Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course.

are a gazillion owner-run
restaurants -- all offering gift certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy eatery sort, what about a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint.

folks this isn't about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open.

many people couldn't use an oil change for their car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?

about a heartfelt gift for mom?
Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning lady for a day.

computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business up and running.

you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people spin their own wool and knit them into scarves.
They make jewelry, and pottery and beautiful wooden boxes.

your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave your server a nice tip.

how about going out to see a play or ballet at your hometown theatre. Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.

people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of light, about fifty cents stays in the community.

you have those kinds of bucks to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip.

see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that China can build another glittering city.
Christmas is now about caring about US (We the People), encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we could not imagine.

is the new American Christmas tradition!!

pass this around. We can make a difference. Can't we?

Time will come, time will go
Time shall reap, that time has sown
Time comes slowly, time goes fast
Time will linger, time outlasts
Time sees all, time knows best
Time remembers, time never forgets
Time will hide, time will reveal
Time will open, time will seal
Time brings hope, time brings fear
Time brings distance, time draws near
Time will help, time will hinder
Time will shine, time turns to cinder
We forget about time, yet it's all we would know
In time, there is everything, and time will show

It seems that my days are run by the hands of the clock lately, and I never quite have enough...time! I miss my time spent lingering, reading and visiting favourite online destinations. Now it is a quick peek here and there via my phone's small screen. But I am still here!

What is your relationship with time?

Wishing you a week with time to smell the roses,
