Aerial Abstract Earth by Richard Woldendorp

The weekend is here in all it's glory...
And speaking of glory, I came across the stunning and spectacular work of living photographic legend Richard Woldendorp's work recently and had to share...

He was born in Holland and resides in Australia now ~

Wouldn't you love a super size print (or two...or three)...?

Which one would you choose? These here are some of my favourites, but all of his work is exquisite.

They pull you in and take you away to places you would never envision...

You can read more about him here

How was your week, are you happy for the weekend? My week flew by in a hustle and bustle...I looked at June's calendar, and now know why I am out of breath...July's calendar has only a few entries in it, thank goodness! School is done, hooray, but now is the business of keeping my boys active in our desert heat, and away from the couch. My oldest son did a basketball camp last week and had a blast. It meant I had to get up far too early and drive way too much, but it was all worthwhile ~ my youngest son started karate (his brother is a 3rd degree brown belt and has gone for years), which means that I now have to make the 30 minute drive (one way) 5 days a week instead of 3...whatever it takes to keep them out of trouble!
My work is getting busier and busier, maybe I should teach them to sew...

How is your schedule for July, will you have some downtime?

Enjoy your weekend!

Nathalie

Summer Hiking

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was rejuvenating ~
We enjoyed cooler temps up at Mount Charleston, on a nice summer hike...we always descend back down into the desert heat feeling refreshed (it's 20 degrees cooler up there).

Wishing you a fantastic week ahead...

Do You Colour In The Lines?

I always loved colouring...and doing it neatly, within the lines, with just the right colour from that Crayola box...it drives me crazy to see what my boys do!
These have been around for awhile, but summer lounging could be a perfect time to get out some colours and have some fun ~ from the Kids page on the Chanel website...

Happy Wednesday,
Have fun!

My Love Affair With Paris

Paris...
The City of Love will always hold the most special place in my heart...
For 14 years ago, my husband Tom surprised me with the most romantic wedding proposal there ~
And I am sharing it with you from my little "memento" book
I had made...it seems so long ago,and yet I feel as if I were there right now!

We were there for my Mother's birthday...both she and my sister lived in Paris for several years...

En route to a touristy visit to la Tour Eiffel...
(or so I thought...)

At the table reserved at Jules Verne, near the top, a magnum of champagne arrived in front of me...I was not paying too much attention, the poor waiter...(and poor Tom!)...The cork was popped, and the bottle was set in front of me... I finally saw that there was a bracelet (similar to one of my Grandmother's that I had always wanted) on the neck of the bottle...I took it off, and looked at the engraving on the inside...

"Marry me...Love Tom"

And that was the beginning of one of the best days of my life...the champagne continued to flow, we were flying high...!

We had the most amazing dinner that night at Buddha Bar, and danced on the tables...even my Grandmother!

Tired as I was, we were up bright and early the next morning, to shop for my ring (he was smart enough to let me choose)...
Off to the vintage jewelry shops we went...
and fell in love with one right away!

Of course the following days my mind was filled with nothing but weddings...and that continued for quite a while ( 15 months, poor Tom)...

My beautiful ring that I adore ~

And that is my love story with and in Paris...
I just love romance!
