Black Tie...

I was told late last night that I will be attending a Black Tie Event tomorrow ~ Help!
Usually I have several weeks or months to torment over what to wear...
And then, it is the never ending question of, what exactly is "Black Tie" for women? In San Francisco I know what Black Tie is...similar I would imagine to NYC. However, in Los Angeles and here in Las Vegas, definitions change, and really from what I have seen, almost anything goes. For myself, I love the classics, and would take any excuse to wear a ballgown.
I do have a closet full of dress clothes from past lives, but now it is always the dilemma of what fits right anymore ~ sigh. I wish I could run right over to Neiman Marcus and pick out something fun and fabulous...

I really Love anything by Marchesa...

These are to die for!
Pedro Garcia Satin Mary Jane

This is so beautiful, I would like it a tad longer mini days are done.

Accessorize... These are drop dead gorgeous!
Jose and Maria Barrera Crystal Chandelier Earrings

Most likely I will end up in something like this, with some vintage Chanel jewelry.
Armani Collezioni Matte Jersey Dress

I really like the flattering arms and neckline here, also the length is nice ~

I'm off to my closet since shopping isn't an option at the moment...wish me luck!
I will be attending the Gala Dinner for The Wine Spectators' New World Wine Experience at The Venetian ~

A Stitch A Day...

This is me, a busy bee! I have been wearing my fingers to the bone with some custom orders ~ That, coupled with my poor little 6 year old who suffered a mild concussion after falling on his head, have kept my visiting hours at bay... I will be out with calling cards very soon!
I wish you all a wonderful week,

Designer Shopping

Las Vegas has it all, almost each and every designer shop that you can think of. I rarely go down to "The Strip," but I had to get a battery replaced in my watch today, so ran over to The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. I never cease to be utterly amazed... every designer you can dream of, and the shops and everything in them are stunning! Few favs I had time to run through today were Loro Piano, Gucci, Cartier, Burberry, Swarovski ~ Thank goodness I was in a hurry...
With Designer shopping overload on the brain, I had to laugh coming across these photos of "Brandaptation"...the Louis Vuitton logo taken to the extreme ~

Have a great weekend, full of Harvest Cheer! I will be carving pumpkins, attending my sons' Fall Festival at school, and getting the costumes anyone out there going in costume anywhere?

i am so sorry but I can't remember where that fabulous LV pumpkin shot came from ~ if you know, please tell me!

Are You Looking For A New Hair - Do?

Oh my! The hair artists that created these do's REALLY out-did themselves...
Top stylists from all over the globe gather in London to compete in the most coveted annual hairdressing event, "The Alternative Hair Show"

It's got me curious...

Obviously fake hair and extensions are okay to use...

Quite the beehive!

Are these hair feathers?

I like the shade...

Conjuring up Marie Antoinette...

Mondrian-esque...but is the attachment hair?

I mean, REALLY????

Not sure if I would be out on the town with one of these doos, but Halloween is right around the corner! Perhaps I will pull out my old hair kit and wig bag from my makeup artist days and do something wild and crazy. I am always a witch (ha ha!) but my sons tell me I need a change.
If I come up with something good I'll share!

Happy wednesday from Las Vegas, full of roaring thunder and wild lightning shows...a big change!

"The Fortress" for 18 Million

At first glance, not knowing the location or what is within, 18 million might get a laugh ~
Angelica Huston has her home that was designed by her late husband, the sculptor Robert Graham, on the market. I used to live blocks from the Venice Beach home, and never ever would have guessed at what was within the walls...I think it is so cool! Mind you, this is half a block from one of the most famous beaches ever, an oasis in the midst of chaos. You can see the view in one of the pictures below.....

What do you think of it?

Have a vibrant week,

Colazione da Tiffany

I absolutely love this picture, for many reasons ~ Of course the obvious, the icon and the movie... My sister's name is Tiffany.. I got this in my favourite city, Roma (it was an invite to a party at a club )... how fun the title is in Italian ... and then of course the obvious once again, the Store itself.
In one of my previous incarnations, in the eighties, when money flowed, I was lucky enough to be the recipient of many Tiffany & Co. gifts (no I was not that kind of girl!). I would often exchange duplicates in for Tiffany coins, and then save them up for a larger purchase. And how fun that was! Not quite Holly Golightly on a Breakfast at Tiffany scale, but it was wonderful for me ~
I just came across some of the leather line that Tiffany unveiled in September, designed by Lambertson Truex... Exquisite! I love the way they have incorporated the Tiffany blue into each piece, in particular the linings.
Oh how I wish I had a little sack of those coins right now, I would love one of these pieces!
