What do Prada and Mad Men Have in Common?

A new ad campaign!
Prada's Fall 2010 ad campaign, shot by the fabulous Steven Meisel and featuring model/muse Angela Lidvall (visit http://www.prada.com/ to see her crooning "Fever" on video) is inspired by the tv show ...
I am not much of a tv person, and saw the show a few times...but I must say, if Miuccia thinks this highly of the show, I am going to Tivo it and make sure I don't miss an episode!
Loving the dresses and bags, but not sure about the hair...I have such heavy hair, it takes 100 hair pins for an up do for me. Are you ready for the tease?

A Home for the Aspen Agate

Finally...
A few of you had asked, so I am sharing what I finally ended up doing with the agate pieces that I brought back from Aspen...
My pieces were too small to do anything like Rablabs does, and I didn't want to attempt drilling into them. I think putting them on this mirrored frame achieves my goal, which was letting the light through to show off the incredibly vibrant colours of nature...and the ripples in the pool and bubbles from the champagne are flowing too!
Project Agate: Completed
I hope you are checking off some fun projects this summer!
Have a great week,
Nathalie
p.s. How do you like my new banner? I am working with a lovely girl from London named Winchester on updating many things in my Etsy shop and had her do this lovely header for me.

Thinking Fall....

It's so hard to think about fall wardrobes when it is blazing hot outside...
however this stunner of a bag by Dolce & Gabbana is something I could build an entire fall wardrobe around...LOVE the shade! I heard cranberry
was going to be hot, and I'm all over it...In addition to mustard, turquoise, gray, and camel, in case you were curious.
Sounds good to me!
Have a great weekend...

Eureka! I Came Up With Some Ideas...

If you happened to see a posting a week or so about some agate pieces that I brought back from Aspen, you'll understand...
I have been trying to think of something to do with several stunning agate pieces, and I just happened upon Anna Rabinowicz' site, "Rab Labs", where you can find these gorgeous pieces.
What inventive ideas!
Visit her here.

Next time I am looking for the big pieces! I adore all of these options...

Bellagio Conservatory...Beating the Heat

Since I am not going to Kensington Gardens (sigh) I decided to got to the Bellagio to visit the Conservatory and get out of our 115 temps. Changed seasonally, this is a must see for any visitors to Vegas. The cast bronze ant sculptures are by American artist Susan P.Cochran, the bees and snails are made of flowers, but my favourites were the sculpted Sevillano Olive trees. This gathering here is the largest collection shown publicly anywhere (there are less than 2,000 at the present time in the world). And then of course the magnificent ceiling by Dale Chihuly never ceases to amaze me, no matter how many times I've seen it...

Have a great weekend!

How I'd like to be at Kensington Gardens this summer...

Cool, right?
The 10th annual pavilion designed by world famous architect Jean Nouvel at Kensington gardens opened this week...
Every year for the past 10, a Serpentine Pavilion has been designed by architects new to the UK. In the past pavilions were built by Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas... I can only imagine strolling through the park and coming upon this...
I just love the linear aspects combined with the color...Wow! What I want to know is where does this go once the "exhibit" is done?

Inside the pavilion ...

The crimson red is in vibrant contrast to the green park...

The pavilion will be in place until October 17...

Inspired by Nature...

Some recent lavender sachets I have done for Dolce Dreams...I love coming up with beautiful colour combinations, and I get so much inspiration just looking outside. While in Aspen I picked up these stunning agate pieces, aren't they beautiful? I am trying to think of something to do with them, a way to display them so that the light shines through. If you have any ideas let me know...
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend and find some time to enjoy Mother Nature!

Material Girl Number Two...Lourdes Leon Blogs

There's a new blogger in town...Lourdes Leon, all of 13, is blogging to promote the Material Girl Collection that she is helping her Mom (Madonna) design...the collection debuts at Macy's on August 3rd. Having grown up with the first Material Girl, I am not quite sure that I am ready to re-visit the 80's...but with this kind of promotion, I am sure that we will be seeing many "tweens" giving us a blast from the past.
Check out her first blogging debut here.

Shoe Envy....

Oh I would love to be parading around in these oh so pretty pumps by Moncler! I would even put up with my arthritic pain that comes now after way too many years of heels on the go...
I do love my bling, whether it is age or Vegas getting to me!

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

Like many, I will be doing the traditional barbeque, relaxing with friends, and watching fireworks. I am lucky as we have front row seats from our yard to several fireworks shows, so we don't have to drive... I wish you all a wonderful weekend with family and friends!
