Photographer Nathaniel Kramer...To Die For!

I came across this amazing photo collage of cherry trees from photographer Nathaniel Kramer in Elle Decor...and had to see more! I am madly in love with his use of colour and nature, and want to do a house a room an outfit, something anything using his work as inspiration! See more of his work below or visit his gallery here.
A chiffon dress in these shades would be divine...

Another cherry tree photo collage...

There is something so peaceful here, I want to dive right in!

These colours are so surreal, I love them!

I could envision a seaside room's decor built around this print...

Celebrating Earth Day in the Cosmos and in the Shopping Arena

I came across these beautiful images of the Universe taken by the Hubble Space telescope, which is exploring 24/7 up in our skies. They really are stunning, and makes me curious about taking a trip out into the Universe. Maybe not in my lifetime for me, but I am sure this will be more accessible to my children or grandchildren.
Above is "Journey through the Orion Nebula"
Happy Earth Day!
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to buy something upcycled! I am in love with these gorgeous flower brooches by Zippinning, recycling old zippers into works of art.
Visit her shop here.

The Rings of Saturn

Cosmic Pearls...exploding stars!

There are so many color variations and designs available... a great idea that Zippinning has posted on her shop is to use these for curtain ties...that would be so fun for a little girls' room!

Beaches on the Brain

Thinking about bathing suits got me thinking about beaches. My whole life I have lived on or near a beach, so it is pretty surprising that I have lived for 5 years now in the middle of the desert. The ocean, or any body of water is so peaceful and mesmerizing. But I have been surprised to find that I get the same feeling being surrounded by beautiful least, almost!
Here are a few of my favourite spots that I have been to or lived. Above is Lanikai beach on Oahu...I lived for 10 years in Hawaii as a child, and spent every weekend on this beach...the sand is the softest whisper of powder. I always said that when I grew up I would have a house on this beach... There's still time, I haven't quite grown up yet!
Where are your favourite spots?
Key West, Florida...I have only been a few times, but what a magical place!
Santa Monica, California... Both of my boys were born here...I lived for years in the tall white tower on the right, a hop skip and a jump from the beach. I heard the waves crashing every night. I do miss it :(
Such a little beach...but nothing can compare to Positano for the sheer magnificance (unless maybe Greece where I have yet to go!) of the town on the cliffs behind. Arriving by boat is the most fun way to arrive. Unless of course you have a Ferrari to cruise the Amalfi coastline!
Ahhh, Zuma...The incredible beaches of Malibu! Nothing is more Hollywood than Malibu for a beach. I made this drive daily to work, and what heavenly scenery. But the residents here pay the price for the beauty, with the mudslides, fires, and earthquakes that wreak havoc.
Santa Cruz, California...I spent many years of my youth in Northern California, and Santa Cruz has one of the best beaches. This is also a favourite because this is where my husband is from!
Torremolinos, on the Costa del Sol in Spagna...In high school I spent a summer as an exchange student in Spain. I had alot of fun wind surfing here!
As a child we would go to my grandparents in Port Dover, on the shores of Lake Erie. We had so much fun! Chilly water though...

Bathing Suit Season is Coming Quick!

AGH! Not my favourite time of year...Trying on bathing suits with my pale pale body that is not yet ready to show itself. And here in Las Vegas, you live in your bathing suit during the heat of the summer. So you need multiples...Of course this is all I need to remind myself that I need to exercise more, eat less, do whatever it takes. The sun is shining, our pool is almost ready for that first dip...What to wear?!
If I were 21 or even perhaps 32 again, I would LOVE the hot number above by Betsey Johnson...
You may have seen me in this...quite a few years ago (most definitely before two pregnancies)

This one piece by Badgely Mischka is long as the print doesn't add too much to the waistline... and my pale skin gets some colour!
This is what you will most likely see me in 98% of the time, an exciting "tankini"...minus the attitude here!

For me, I always like a guy in trunks...

And then there's always the Speedo...

SAFE with Karl Lagerfeld

"Narcissus"...the most expensive home safe in the world, designed by no other than Karl Lagerfeld...
You had better move quick, they are made to order and limited to an edition of available at LA Closet Design in West Hollywood, for about $340,000. Made by the German safe manufacturer Dottling, it weighs 1760 pounds, and is about 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide. The exterior is chrome plated aluminum, and it has "owner recognition technology", which opens up two handcrafted interior cabinets that pop out from the sides...
Leave it to Karl...I wish I had enough treasures to fill this up!
