Brighten Your Senses

I have met so many wonderful and talented people on Etsy. I really would not shop anywhere else! I was blessed enough to be the recipient of an order from Meagan of Mockingbird Willow in Melbourne. Checking out her shop made me want to completely re-do my boys rooms with her art! There is nothing like a jolt of colour to get the sensory juices flowing.
Visit her Etsy shop here.

Overindulgence

What a Thanksgiving...
I indulged far too much yesterday, and fear I have no energy to take advantage of Black Friday today! Online shopping perhaps? When you are invited to a Michelin Star Chef's home for dinner, it is hard not to have seconds...

Happy Thanksgiving!

" As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them"
John F. Kennedy
I found this wonderful old book on Etsy, and fell in love with the artwork by Helen Sewell. Parts of it remind me of Matisse in a way. I really enjoyed reading this with my children. After an over the top Willy Wonka party for my now 6 year old, and Christmas on the way, I try to remind them to be thankful as much as I can, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.
And I remind myself, too...
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Highly Anticipated Opening of City Center

The staggered openings of City Center start December 1st, when Vdara, the first building, opens. For those of us that live here in Las Vegas, we have been watching the construction of this even more "over the top" production with awe...surprising here, where everything is... well... over the top. I guess in a way it is a good thing the economy slowed things down, because, really, how could it have kept on going?
Even though I am not a frequent visitor to the "Strip", I will be down to check this extravaganza out
And will post some pictures when I do!
Have a great week,
Nathalie

Silks from Maharashtra

I have always loved sari's... the colours and the embroidery
are so visually stimulating. I got my Etsy Finds e-mail this morning, and saw one of these dresses by Silk and More's shop, and immediately stopped by. This red dress is so fabulous, I want it! I also want the necklace with it...don't know if it is for sale? I wanted all of these even more after stopping by Dust jacket Attic, she has an incredible post on a shoot in India that is stunning. Check them both out!
Have a relaxing weekend,
Nathalie
This has such great movement, really beautiful!

This dress was on the Front Page of Etsy

Beautiful Princess dress...

Of course I love the embroidery...

Haunted Harvest at The Springs Preserve in Las Vegas

If you are ever in Vegas and get tired of "The Strip", I highly recommend a trip to The Springs Preserve. Only 15 minutes away, it is a 180 acre cultural institution that commemorates Las Vegas' dynamic history, and provides a vision for a sustainable future. There are museums, galleries, an outdoor ampitheatre for concerts and events, colourful botanical gardens and trails, and a Wolfgang Puck Cafe with fantastic views of Las Vegas. We attended "The Haunted Harvest" that they throw for the first time this year, and will be returning every year. It was so decorated so phenomenally, and my boys are still trembling from the Haunted Hayride!
My fearsome red ninja!

The decor was impressive
Ghouls galore were throughout

The gardens were full of upcycled/recycled creatures

The cacti with lights were stunning

The gardens lit up with The Strip lights in the background
