Modern Technology Visits Famous Artwork

"Gadgets" have become such a part of our everyday lives, that it is hard to remember what it was like without them! It really makes you wonder what the next generation will be coming into...

Artist Kim Dong-Kyu added a few gadgets into some familiar artworks...
It makes you think seeing such well known paintings with modern touches!

With three males in the house that love gadgets, I have more than I would prefer lying around...

Are you into gadgets? If you are reading this, I know you have at least one :)

I hope wherever you are you are staying warm and starting 2014 off with a bang!

Welcome 2014!

I always love a new year and the fresh start it brings!
Here are a few peeks at my 2014 Inspiration board, what I am looking forward to in the coming year ~

Being grateful goes a long way!

Love it!
My Grandmother always said that most smiles are started by another smile...even if you are smiling to yourself :)

A good reminder for me ~

I just love this...
My friend Sean Murphy shared this from his father's restaurant "Jimmy's" in Beverly Hills. It was next to the time clock to be read each day. If you are having a party in LA, be sure to check out Sean's catering business, "Sean Murphy Catering"

What would you do?

Oh so true...

Looking forward to a year filled with more love than fighting and blaming others in the world.

This is how I want 2014 to finish...
"I knew I could"

I have many exciting things going on at Dolce Dreams!
Time will tell how they turn out, but I am looking forward to growing and creating more.
This was a custom quilt that was one of my favourite pieces I did last year....I just love the saying!

I am playing around with my blog design, it is nowhere near what I am aiming for, (this is one of the "i think i can " situations that i hope will end up "i knew i could"), be patient with me!

So far this year I am very grateful to have 2 shoes on (after 2 months in a boot for a stress fracture at the end of 2013), and to have the nasty flu that was in our house finished!

Wishing you an eventful year!

Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a sparkly New Year!

I must say that with a boot on my broken foot for the last few months of 2013, and a household with the flu over Christmas, I am REALLY looking forward to 2014, with a clean slate of health!

All the Best to you all!

Inspirational Women

When I have an agenda so full that I feel overwhelmed, I just call my dear friend Susan Goecke up, to feel that my tasks are possible.. With four sons ages 10 to 18 (all in different sports), a family business that she works for, her own gemstone jewelry business, the Kundalini yoga classes that she teaches, she now adds "Published Author" to her job titles.

Last night I attended a book signing for "The Three Choices," the book that she whipped out during the year that she was busy helping her son out with college applications.

I am so proud of all of her many accomplishments!
She is truly an inspiring woman to be around, and I am proud to call her my friend!

"There is one guarantee in everyone’s life, and that is certain death.
But have you ever stopped to think what actually happens at that exact moment after you die?
This is the great unknown that everyone has to face at some point.
In the new and exciting book "The Three Choices" by Susan Goecke, you will be able to explore the afterlife through the profound experiences of a mother who suddenly finds herself on a journey like no other. Her day started like just like any other typical day, but turned out to be something completely different. A magical car ride turned into a living nightmare, forcing her to make the most difficult choice of her life.
That single choice altered her soul forever…
Unsure of what steps to take next, she bravely entered into the twisted spider web of her mind and became deeply transported into the multiple layers of her own subconscious mind and past memories.
At that point in the journey, she had to make one more critical step…"

You can buy the book at Amazon

Kundalini yoga's focus is on self-awareness and delivering an experience of your highest consciousness.

I was introduced to doTerra essential oils by Susan, and have become addicted. Since using them, I have not purchased any medications from the pharmacy. Even my boys will ask for "some oils please Mom" when they are not feeling well.
I LOVE them all!

She is one of my small group of Mothers that I look up to and admire, that I call with any questions on how and why and what to do...

Thanks Susan for the continual inspiration and light that you bring to the world!

It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas...!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with Love, family, friends and great food! I sure enjoyed mine, even though we had a much smaller group than years past. December is crazy for me, filled with Christmas orders to fill, and events at my sons' schools, so after eating too much turkey I quickly switched gears and starting packing Thanksgiving decor away...and got into full Christmas mode yesterday. My sons are older now and so helpful, I was thinking of when they were little and how much I used to do all by myself (my husband has his hands full with the outside light extravaganza!), and I am grateful.

Here are some of my favorite Christmas finds that I have been pinning in anticipation! All photos are via my Holiday Pinterest Boards, you can get the links to them HERE.

And here is a photo of the place settings at my Thanksgiving table, that I had mentioned I would be doing, inspired by a Pinterest photo. I think it turned out so pretty with my grandmother's china and our wedding silver and crystal.

Are you in the holiday spirit yet, with your tree up, or do you wait a bit?

Have a wonderful week!
